Amy Grey (Founder, CEO, and Program Director)

Originally from Green Bay, Wisconsin and a resident of the Coachella Valley for over 30 years, Amy has been cheerleading or dancing since elementary school. She was a competitive middle school and high school cheerleader and has almost 29 years of coaching expertise. She is a former United Spirit Association (USA) instructor and camp director as well as a judge for various competitive companies throughout the United States. She has done choreography and coached award-winning teams from throughout Southern California. Locally, she has worked as a cheer/dance coach/choreographer for Palm Springs High School, Palm Desert High School, La Quinta High School, and Nellie Coffman Middle School. She also began and ran championship programs at both James Workman Middle School (two-time National Champions in a junior varsity high school division) and Cathedral City High School. Amy has been teaching middle school for going on twenty-one years and is the mother of three girls, Mackenzie (a Senior Maverick) and twin daughters Ryann and Addison (both Tiny Mavericks!)

Marco Galvez (Partner and Mavericks Head Coach)

Marco is in his fourth year as a member of our coaching staff and brings with him tremendous cheerleading and gymnastic experience. He is a former high school cheerleader and competitive gymnast. He is a former member of Pace All-Stars, Pace Empire,  California All-Stars, and Orange Coast College Cheer (O.C.C.) Now head coach of the Mavericks teams, Marco brings the structure and  disciplined leadership that has resulted in every athlete in the program continually improving and advancing throughout the year.

Sheila Ribas (Levels 1-5, Recreational, and School Program Head Coach)

Sheila has the unique extinction of being on the very first Maverick team (1997-98).  She has returned to coach and instruct, after having coached the College of the Desert Cheer Team. We're extremely excited to have her return to the program and help lead our school cheer program, as well as work with our Mavericks.  Sheila is also a former La Quinta High School cheerleader.  She is an amazing, well-rounded performer who's excels in stunting and jumping.  Her daughter Jenelle is a new Tiny Maverick!

Jennifer Vanblarcom (School Program Cheer Coach)

Jennifer is now in her fourth year as a member of our coaching staff.  She is a former competitive high-school cheerleader and dancer.  She was also a four-year member of the University of California, Riverside Cheer Team.  She has over sixteen years of dance and performing experience.  She is a strong stunter, who brings tremendous enthusiasm in her role as a coach.  She is a middle-school language arts teacher at Painted Hills Middle School.  She will be coaching our school teams this year.   

Sanja Stark (Levels 1-5 Coach)

Sanja is a recent graduate of Azuza Pacific University where she was a four-year member of the National Championship Stunt & Tumble Team.  She is a long-time, former Maverick who has previously coached during her summer breaks.  She is also a former competitive gymnast.  We're excited to have Sanja "home" again to help coach our levels 1-5 teams for the upcoming season.

Jessica Rock (Levels 1-5 Coach)

Jessica is a long-time Elite Maverick, who is currently on the National Championship Azusa Pacific University Cheer Team. She remains an important of the Mavericks throughout the cheer season, helping coach the elite teams on Saturdays and on breaks from school. Jessica is a strong performer with excellent skills who provides a great role model for our athletes.

Jade Mason (Levels 1-3 Assistant)

Jade is in her second year of coaching and instructing our school cheer program and co-coaching our Tiny Lady Mavericks.   She is also currently a member of the Mavericks Senior "Vixens".  A recent high school graduate,  she was a key member of her school's varsity team at Cathedral City High School.  Jade's spirit and enthusiasm makes her an excellent role model for our youngest Mavericks.

Paige Husband (Levels 1-3 Assistant)

Paige is new to coaching and has been helping assist our younger teams and school program.  She is also assisting with Amelia Earhart and Washington Charter School programs.  She is a third-year Senior "Vixen" member.  She has tremendous spirit and stunting experience that she brings to her role as coach.
