The Desert Elite Mavericks (formerly Desert Valley and/or DVAS) was started in 1997 and since day one we pride ourselves in being among the best. Now in our 15th year, we remain a small gym program that is close-knit and very family-oriented. Our goal has been and continues to be to offer a quality competitive program for ages 3-18, beginning through advanced, that is open to any individual who wants to cheer. There is no experience required, because we are in the business of “creating” cheerleaders. Currently we have four Maverick all-star teams and three school team programs. We are excited to announce our expansion to include a second location in Beaumont for the 2012-2013 season. Located in the Coachella Valley, our members are from all high and low desert cities. Our team colors are navy, teal, silver, and white and our mascot is a "Maverick" - chosen because of its nature to set itself apart from others.
Our mission here at Desert Elite is to create strong, competitive athletes that won’t fear hard work and will remain focused in order to achieve their goals both in the sport of cheerleading and in life. Life is not always easy and through the values and lessons of our sport the athletes will learn how to set goals, self-discipline and commitment to a task, resilience, and working as a team. The Desert Elite is strong group of competitive individuals that are consistently looking to improve on their performance, skills, and motivation for life. Teamwork is key for the success of the Desert Elite family, but from day one our athletes learn that in order for our unit to function successfully and achieve its goals every individual must take full responsibility for their own actions. Being a member of the Desert Elite is a huge family commitment involving the responsibility of regular attendance, active participation, and elite athletic excellence.
While winning may not always be everything here at Desert Elite, let’s face it, it does always make the sun shine brighter, which is why all of our teams are treated as the premier team of the family. We strongly focus on each and every individual that walks through our door so that everyone feels welcomed, strong, and confident in the sport. To have fun and fail at what you do is not an option, nor does it make you confident in your individual abilities, but to have fun after a hard day of work is truly motivating and exciting because as a Maverick you are empowered to know that only you can control the outcome of your efforts. Yes, competitive are we, but that is why our teams have acquired tremendous recognition throughout our long history.
